Tandem paragliding is the “Best” way to learn (or Discover) how to fly like the birds. The USHPA certified tandem instructor and the student pilot fly together in the same glider, that is designed for two (2) person flights.
After a short hike to launch, you and the pilot will climb into your full protection harnesses, then attach to the glider utilizing a spreader bar system. The instructor will check the reserve parachute system, then the wind, and after 1 or 2 steps you’re gently lifted off the hill.
Once you are airborne the instructor and student pilot can easily talk to each other as the instructor explains how to control the paraglider. If the conditions are right, and the student pilot is willing, the instructor can turn over the controls to the passenger to fly the glider while the instructor sits behind you, guiding the student as you both fly the glider.
By learning to fly in a tandem, you the student pilot, will really understand and enjoy your first flight with the secure feeling of having your instructor at the controls with you at all times.
Landing the tandem is smooth and easy. The pilot simply steers the paraglider into the wind for a nice glide path, slows the glider, and you step down on your tip-toes. The landing is so soft that you’ll forget about Gravity.
Bring your camera (video/photo), because this is an incredible experience that will last you a lifetime. You’ll be kicking yourself if you don’t. But please, don’t forget a strap for your camera.
Cost is $200 for a one hour flight with your instructor.
