Paragliding is
the Easiest and Safest form of personal flight known to man. Originating in the Alps in the early 80's as a climbers descent technique, the sport evolved
into a relatively simple, pure form of aviation. To fly, you simply spread out
your wing on a hillside and inflate it over your head like a kite, then you are
gently lifted into the sky by the upward air currents. Once you are airborne, you steer the paraglider like a bicycle with the control handles. If you
shift your weight in the comfortable seat, you'll turn the glider just like a big
swing in the sky and soar like the birds. Landing a paraglider is extremely
easy, just turn into the wind and gently glide into a soft landing on the
beach.

A recent testimonial from a visiting
pilot:
Aloha and thank you for contributing to
the best vacation I have had in Hawaii. I really enjoyed the
four days I spent chasing the wind with you and my new paragliding
friends. The five flights at four sites around the island will be
ingrained in my memory banks forever. And the launches are
fantastic. I am really impressed at how well you folks at
Gravity Sports have scoped out launches on every corner of the island.
I will never forget the first launch I witnessed on Nanakuli! I could
not even believe how that pilot got up there, much less laid out his
wing and launched. Then when I had my own flight a
few days later (from the water tank) and got to experience getting
1000 ft over the Pacific I saw why he went for it. Pete, your
experience, local knowledge and weather tips made it possible for me
to experience safe flying in a truly spectacular environment. You
folks demonstrated true Hawaiian hospitality and I hope that we can
return the favor when you come to San Diego. Thank you again and
please let me know when you are next coming to San Diego.
A
grateful PG pilot,
